The Power of Optimization

Modules in solar power installations are strung in series, so the output is only as good as the worst-performing module. Shade from a neighbor's tree, dust from a recent storm, or premature aging of any panel will decimate a system's output and delay its return-on-investment by months or years.

Luckily, much of the lost power can be recovered by "optimizing," or independently tuning each module's output to match the performance of the string inverter. By addressing each panel individually a system can effectively overcome the limitations of poor-production panels and take advantage of the output of its top performers.

Conventional power optimizers and microinverters process the full power output of each module. Handling such large current requires the use of large, expensive and lossy components that lack reliability.  In practice, these circuits often fall far short of expectations because of these inescapable circuit losses. They can even reduce the output of the very system they're trying to improve.

Widely Compatible, Easy to Own

Maxout Balancers support strings from 8-32 panels. Longer strings mean The Balancer can pump more power into your inverter, letting it perform more efficiently for more hours of the day, especially in dim light.

Standard 60, 72 and 96 cell PV modules are supported, as well as thin-film, concentrated PV and other technologies. Virtually all string inverters are supported as well, including single phase, 3 phase, 50-60 Hz, etc.

The Balancer contains no high-wear components and requires virtually no maintenance. Snap-together cabling make it easy to service the system, and its incredibly small size help you make the most of available roof space.
